In the 15th issue of Shueisha’s Young Jump magazine it has been announced that anime adaptation of Yuusuke Murata’s One-Punch Man manga has been green-lit. Further details would be announced at the Anime Japan 2015 event on March 21 and 22.
One-Punch man is a comedy/action manga written by One and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. The story is based in the fictional metropolis of City Z, Japan. Filled with monsters causing many destructions. Obviously there is somebody to take them down, a superhero called Saitama who is so powerful that he can take down his enemies just in one punch but he has become bored and frustrated with winning all his battles so easily. The series follows the hilarious adventures of Saitama in search for stronger opponents to fight him.
The series started as a free webcomic by One which was then picked by picked up by Shueisha. Murata started to collaborate with One on the remake of the webcomic One-Punch Man, which started to be serialized in the online version of the Weekly Young Jump on June 14, 2012.
As of November 2014 the series has sold over 4.5 million copies in circulation.
