Harry Potter Franchise is one of the most successful venture ever. The movies alone have grossed over 7 Billion Dollars and all of the Harry Potter Movies are one of the Top 50 grossing movies ever. Beyond that the books are, you know it, best-sellers and if thats not all we have Harry Potter theme park in Universal Orlando and two new parks opening soon in Japan & Hollywood. There’s even this website called Pottermore, which lets users explore the undefined things in the books and movie and relive the story in an interactive frame.
So just how J. K. Rowling can stop now, well 7 years after the last Harry Potter book the story will live-on via spin-offs and stage plays and even a new movie planned for 2016.
In the first spin-off story after 7 years Harry Potter is bit old, 34 years old to be exact. The story will follow-up from the gossip columnist ‘Rita Skeeter’ point of view. Basically is the glimpse of the adult life of the wizards as Harry reunited with Ron, Hermione and their friends at the final of the 2014 Quidditch World Cup in a 1,500-word piece for her website Pottermore. Well lot has happened in the adult lives of these wizards as they have taken new jobs and roles, which will be portrayed in this book. Stuff like Ron used to work at Ministry of Magic but moves on to assist his brother George at their very successful Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, Neville is a Hogwarts teacher or say Hermione Granger who is the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement. See there is even much more packed in the story. This and more other exclusive writings can be read at Pottermore.
Variety has also reported that the new Harry Potter movie based on the spin-off book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be out on November 18 2016. Interestingly this movie is going to be a trilogy. Although the studio has not yet set a producer, director or actors for the film they usual actors will not work in it. Interestingly the film will follow the exploits of “magizoologist” Newt Scamander, but lots of work will surely be needed as the original material is of just 54 pages. Just imagine 3 movies from those 54 pages.
Thats not it, Rowling is also producing a stage play in London which depicts Harry’s early days before heading to Hogwarts. So yeah, expect a lot of muggles and magic in the upcoming years.
