After all those rumors over the past few months, finally we have something. The Dark Lord of the Sith will return. Entertainment Weekly revealed on the cover of its latest issue, on newsstands Friday.
Expect James Earl Jones to once again voice Darth Vader. Though we don’t know who will be wearing the suit. David Prowse provided the presence for the villain in the original trilogy, with Gene Bryant under the mask for the character’s cameo in 2005’s Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. James Earl Jones provided the voice for Vader in all four movies.
With the film revolving around a team of rebels embarking on a mission to steal the plans for the Death Star from the Empire, it only made sense that Darth Vader would have to be in the movie!
The EW story also confirms Mads Mikkelsen will play protagonist Jyn Erso’s father, while Alan Tudyk will have a motion-capture role as droid K-250.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be released Dec. 16.
