2014 was a great year, we had some amazing and unexpected movies in 2014.
Anyways its already 2015, and this year we will see some big franchises from ‘Star Wars’ to ‘Avengers’ and many more make a mark. Not all of those movies would be great but since they have big names or hits annotated with them expectations would be surely high from them.
That doesn’t mean new movies franchises can’t stand a chance, they obviously do, they just need the right amount of awesomeness!
Anyways so far I think these are the anticipated movies of 2015.
Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1)
Marvel had a good business in 2014 and if I expect anything from this movie is that it should live up to the hype and be comparable to the expectations set by Guardians of the Galaxy (and the first Avengers movie!). And with Joss Whedon is is likely to be the biggest blockbusters of 2015.
Jurassic World (June 12)
This movie may or may not work, c’mon reboots are not always that awesome because there is always that older brother who is way better than it. It might surely appeal to the old fans but gaining new fans might be tough, but Chris Pratt added whole lot of awesomeness to this movie. If the cards play well, we might have a amazing movie.
Chappie (March 6)
Now this is a new kid on the block, but the moment you see the trailer you will be hooked to it. If you liked Neill Blomkamp’s District 9 then you might also expect something from this director. The cast is also filled with some of the finest Sci-Fi actors. So good luck with that!
Spectre (November 6)
Its a bond flick, what could possibly go wrong, except the script? Probably that won’t be the case. I love Bond movies, since the team behind the 2012’s flick Skyfall is behind this I can an only sense awesomeness.
Mad Max: Fury Road (May 15)
I like the idea of casting Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, as they might be good with action scene. The problem is we waited just too long for this movie and overtime our expectations might just surpass reality.Still the trailer looks amazing!
Jupiter Ascending (February 6)
I like the basic plot of the story, big stars are associated with this movie and after that long delay of seven months I hope WB has something special to put in the market.
Ant-Man (July 17)
Ant-Man is Marvel’s next foray in its cinematic universe. Just like Guardians of the Galaxy, I initially don’t have much hopes from the movie but I had similar experience with Guardians of the Galaxy. I like the original comic book character and I think the movie has a decent cast. Now Marvel just need to sprinkle some of their magic on it.
Crimson Peak (October 16)
Guillermo del Toro returns to the Horror genre with this one. Adding Tom Hiddleston to this gothic haunted house caper was just a delight. After all movie from the director of Pan’s Labyrinth was never meant to skip over.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens (December 18)
C’mon this is a Star Wars movie, the name is only enough to make it to this list. How it turns out is the matter of time, After all it all depends on J.J. Abrams. Fans have high expectations though!
Tomorrowland (May 22)
The director of The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol returns to the big screen with this flick and I don’t think Brad Bird can do any wrong, thanks to his past.
The Fantastic Four (August 7)
The last Fantastic Four franchise was not much of a thing. Thanks to 20th Century Fox, they are rebooting the franchise from scratch. I am still dubious about this one I hope Josh Trank has some seriously amazing stuff planned,
The Jungle Book (Oct 9)
I liked Jungle Book as a kid, just like everybody did. So there are very few things that could make this live-action adaptation fail as the story is already amazing. Its all up to the director and the cast to bring the classic legend back to life.
There just so many movies I want to see this year but I think these movies are the ones which excite me.
