There are Many Sci-Fi Series on TV this Summer 2015
Spaceships, Robots, Intergalactic battles, and cyber battles are a few of the things which come to my mind when I think of Sci-Fi series airing this season.
Okay, there aren’t that many shows if you only consider the new titles (which is what I will be doing) but if we also include every show that would be much. As back in the days Summer was the time when there weren’t that many amazing shows but now surely things are changed. I mean see Hannibal which returned for season 3 this month, it screams it’s awesomeness in its cinematography.
We surely are in the golden age of television, sure there are a few rotten eggs but in all it’s a delight.
Sci-Fi as a genre was never a thing of the small screen, makers were usually scared off the huge budgets but nevertheless things changed for the good and now we have such amazing shows like Doctor Who or the very recent The Flash.
BTW, here are some new Sci-Fi Series airing right now.
A series created by Stargate SG-1’s Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie. Dark Matter is based on the comic created by Mallozzi and Mullie with the same name, this show follows the crew of a starship called Raza and apparently they have woken up from stasis but without any memory of their earlier selves or what are they doing in space. The series has a nostalgic 90’s feeling to it and judging by it’s pilot it was not bad for a space opera.
A planetary system is in a brink of a interplanetary but this is not what Killjoys is all about. This show follows a trio of bounty hunters who are impartial towards multi-planetary war and instead focus on chasing deadly warrants. Killjoys’ first episode aired last week and if is it’s any indication about how the show will be ahead — I say it will be quite a treat.
All Robots must follow Asimov’s Laws, at least that’s what iRobot told us but what if Robots didn’t obey a certain sets of parameters. What would happen if they get human conscious. It’s won’t be too long before they takeover and rebel against us. Humans is set in the world were owning a Robot is a norm. They are called a Synths and probably every family has them, say like a butler. See where I am getting at.
I just talked about this show two weeks ago. I was totally excited after watching that pilot episode, BTW if you don’t know the series premieres tomorrow. Basically this shows follows a guy called Elliot who is a young computer programmer who suffers from an antisocial disorder and connects to people by hacking them. He soon meets Mr Robot who recruits hackers like Elliot to bring a digital revolution and spread Anarchism in the society.
Stitchers follows the life of Kristen who has been hired by a secret government organization to recover memories from the minds of the dead criminals by getting ‘stitched’. I think this show needs a little fine tuning. I mean the concept is good but the storyline is little meh, quite predictable.
Netflix has been been producing some fine shows and this show is just one of them. Sense8 follows the lives of eight people living across different cities around the world. In the aftermath of a tragic death they all experience through what they perceive as dreams or visions, they suddenly find themselves growing mentally and emotionally connected. It’s a little slow series but is quite broad and fascinating to see.
Fear The Walking Dead
Okay, hold on! This show isn’t airing anytime sooner but as it is the part of the Summer 2015 catalog — so why not know more about it.
If the title didn’t indicate that it is a Spin-off of The Walking Dead then what is. The series is set in the horrifying apocalyptic world depicted in The Walking Dead but in a different location with completely new characters. BTW Fear The Walking Dead will premiere this August.
