Star Wars: The Force Awakens is the Christmas Gift You Wanted

Since Star Wars: The Force Awakens was announced fans were desperately waiting for it to hit the theaters. The kind of hype the trailers had generated, fans were already sure that this movie is gonna be a new sensation.

**SPOILER ALERT**

Now that most of us have watched the movie, let’s dive directly into the characters. The movie starts off with our new cast, Rey (Daisy Ridley) who is a scavenger on the desert planet of Jakku. Finn who is a stormtrooper for the First Order under the command of Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver). We also have Poe Dameron (Oscar Isaac) who is the best pilot of the Resistance headed by now called General Leia (Carrie Fisher). We also have Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and his buddy Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew), and last but not the least Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Cast

The movie starts off telling us Luke is missing and Leia is trying to find him, this is where the journey of the new characters begins, Finn who was a stormtrooper wants to get out of the first order and Rey is a scavenger on Jakku waiting for someone. Poe helps out Finn escape from the First order ship, in which Finn thinks that Poe died as their ship crash landing on Jakku. While Rey finds BB8 droid which has the information on the location of Luke.

Han Solo

The thing I liked is that there is a good amount of humour which works very well and most of it comes from Finn. We also say goodbye to Han Solo who is killed by Kylo and yes we also have a very epic lightsaber duel between Kylo and Finn, oh and Rey too. Rey also has the force which is very strong with her, and without any training she is able to use it. One thing I was intrigued with was the fact that we go into the movie taking many questions out of which a very few are answered. Finally in the end we get a glimpse at old Luke Skywalker at a Jedi Temple where Rey gives him his lightsaber, this was a moment in the theatre when the audience started cheering, and the movie ends on a cliffhanger.

Kylo Ren

Now speaking of the new baddie Kylo Ren, he is the son of Han and Leia, he is conflicted between the light and the dark side, and he is under the influence of Supreme Leader Snoke. JJ has done a great job by showing us that the villain even has a character, not only a motive. Ren feels much more human rather than being like Vader, who Ren considers his Force mentor to do what he had started.

The most notable thing of the movie has to be the characters which are likeable and not just shoehorned into their roles. Rey does a great job as being a girl who can kick some serious ass and is independent, whereas Finn and Poe are very much likeable characters. Han is the same as he was like in the original trilogy but a little wiser and old too, It was a great moment when Han comes aboard the Millennium Falcon and we get our money shot dialogue, “Chewie we’re home”. Leia too does a great job, but not much is seen from her except for some great dialogues.

Star Wars

So the final words for the film, The movie is extremely good as expected but not as great as the Empire Strikes back, as the plot of the movie was a little similar to that of the New Hope, here we have a new and bigger death star which is again destroyed by the Resistance. I am eagerly waiting for the next movie.
