Noblesse: Awakening, The First Animated Adaptation Of A LINE Webtoon Series

Over the years we all saw Line Webtoons grow as a great medium of consuming digital comics. Even we have recommended a few of their best series like the Zombie apocalyptic series Dead Days or the heartwarming Salty Studio.

Star Wars Line

Recently they even published the official Star Wars comic based on the original trilogy from Luke’s perspective. You’ve never experienced the original Star Wars trilogy quite like this.

Coming back, every Line Webtoon reader probably might have heard about Noblesse. It is quite popular and if you haven’t read it yet then you really should, it’s amazing. The series has almost 400 episodes and earned over 2 billion pageviews since its 2007 debut.

Noblesse 2

Written by Son Jae Ho and illustrated by Lee Gwang Su, the series follows a Noblesse called Rai. Noblesse is the title given to the strongest member of the Noble race. The Noblesse is one of the two pillars of Noble society, equivalent in standing to the Lord. Rai wakes up from 820-years long sleep and starts his new life as a student in a high school (Because everything happens in high school, duh!) founded by his loyal servant, Frankenstein.

Last week Line surprised fans by announcing 30-minute OVA animated by Production I.G. It’s based on the first 20 or so chapters of the series and you’ll can watch it right now.

This OVA made Noblesse the first ever animated adaptation based off of a LINE Webtoon series. Line Webtoons has a catalog of some of the best digital comics out there. It would be interesting to see what comes next out of it.
