Daredevil isn’t Your Typical Marvel TV Show, it’s Much Better

Amidst all the fuss that is going in the comic universe regarding any superhero or any TV series, Marvel successfully implanted a series which turned out to be a game changer.

Released about a month ago on Netflix, Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ has been successful in gaining accolades from almost every comic fan, irrespective of their favorite comic universe.

First created by Stan Lee, Bill Everett and Jack Kirby, Daredevil has been one of the fan favorites. Although efforts were previously made to take this hero to the big screen with the Daredevil movie in 2003 starring Ben Affleck (future Batman) but somehow it didn’t turn out that good. However this series is far more different than the movie, both plot-wise and review-wise.

For starters, Daredevil is a complete package. The kind you want every superhero movie or series to go. It has all the drama and action and that too in proper proportions which makes it totally awesome.

Lets talk about the plot. While saving a man from an oncoming truck, the spilt radioactive cargo rendered young Matt Murdock blind while enhancing his enhancing his remaining senses. After being abandoned by his mother and death of his father, a ’Boxer’ at a very early age, Matt grew up to become a lawyer along with his friend Foggy Nelson. However with an uncontrollable urge to make Hell’s Kitchen a better place, Matt decides to go against all the residing evils by becoming a Masked Vigilante by night. However his work earns him the animus of a person who seems to control almost everything happening in the city.

Well that was pretty lengthy but considering the series i guess its too short to describe everything happening in it. There’s romance, troubled childhood of both the hero and the villain, a kickass teacher, action, politics, thriller twists, mystery, a drug cartel, murders etc. And fascinatingly it’s all beautifully incorporated in the 13 episodes. You’ll never get a feeling that things are being rushed at any point of time.

Now lets talk about the characters. Matt Murdock aka the Daredevil or the Man in the Black Mask is played by Charlie Cox who has done exceptionally well to give justice to the superhero’s personality. Earlier rumor has it that Michael C Hall would be playing it (which would have been interesting to see), but Charlie Cox didn’t disappoint either. Then there’s Foggy Nelson, Matt’s best friend who seems a bit pale due to the Daredevil’s awesome personality. But Foggy’s and Karen’s (personal assistant) character proves a very important one owing to the impact they have on the story. Then Rosario Dawson playing Claire, Daredevil’s love interest has done a pretty decent job too. Then there’s the Villain whose comic character name surely carries some weight, the ‘Kingpin’ played by Vincent D’Onofrio is worth praises too.

Although it’s not till the end part of the series that the true Daredevil’s attire is revealed which is kind of a downer for me. But it’s all good taking into consideration what the series has to offer. So overall Daredevil is a must watch. With the official announcement by Netflix and Marvel for Daredevil’s second season things just get more amazing and after knowing that Rosario Dawson is returning to Hell’s Kitchen, I just can’t wait for it to see more of it.

So Have you watched this series? What do you think about it? Do share your thoughts below.
