The Best and Most Memorable Anime of 2015

Heck, 2015 is almost over, it is once again time to look back, reflect, and honor the best Anime Industry had to offer this year. Whereas often the year is dominated by one major blockbuster (One Punch Man), 2015 was a somewhat eclectic year for anime, featuring a bunch of very good shows (and lots of bad shows too). Overlooking all the generic shows and sequels here are some of the best and most memorable Anime shows of the year.

Death Parade

Death Parade

Have you ever wondered what happens to you when you die? Well, surely there are many theories but none of which are actually proven. This show tries to exploit that same idea in it’s very own way. It’s distinct plot and fine episodic execution is what makes it worth watching.

One Punch Man

One-Punch-Man-Manga

One Punch Man is not your usual Superhero series. The shows gives you a perspective of a extremely powerful hero who can kill his villains in just one punch. Sure that sounds amazing but for a hero it is quite boring, no adrenaline filled long battles just one punch and boom dead. This show is quite popular right now, I mean people are really loving this series for obvious reasons.

My Love Story!!

Ore Monogatari

In your usual romantic comedy there’s a perfect guy and a perfect girl and they have their problems and moments. Well sure those shows might be good but perfect couples barely exists and c’mon even we want something more. Enter Takeo Goda a giant guy with a giant heart but because of this giant build girls don’t like him and because of his giant heart guys always praise him. But one day when he saves a girl named Yamato from a harasser on the train, his (love!) life suddenly takes an incredible turn!

Blood Blockade Battlefront

Blood Blockade Battlefront

In a world where monsters and humans live together there surely can’t be harmony all round. Blood Blockade Battlefront centers around the crime fighting organization “Libra” and their battles in Hellsalem’s Lot, formerly known as New York City. While the series is quite good, I would suggest that you’ll should let first three episodes pass, I mean watch them but just don’t give up there, trust me it gets better. Fun fact, the final episode of the series was delayed by three months.

Himouto! Umaru-chan

Himouto! Umaru-chan

Himouto! Umaru-chan is a lighthearted comedy, The series follows Umaru Doma, a high school girl who lives with her older brother Taihei. At school, Umaru appears to be the ideal student with good looks, top grades, and a lot of talent. Once she gets home, however, she reverts into a layabout who spends her time lying around, playing video games, and constantly depending on her older brother, much to his dismay. One of the things that I liked about the series is that in all the randomness, there was a slow feeling of character development.

Food Wars

Food Wars

Yes! this anime is about making food but as you dive in deeper you will wonder if it’s really about food? Well, Food Wars focuses on the life of Yukihira Soma, a middle school student who is determined to surpass his father’s culinary skills. The series has a quite interesting storyline filled with comedy, nudity and lots of food.

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches

Yamada Kun and the 7 Witches

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches is the story of Yamada, a friendless juvenile delinquent who one day accidentally kisses Shiraishi, one of the school’s bookish girls and finds himself in her body and her in his. While there’s more to this Anime than that I guess this is all you should know. Some might find this Anime too generic or sleezy from the plot but as the story progresses you will lust for more.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?

DanMachi

Ever played an RPG game? What if it was real? I mean you do some task like complete your assignment and you level up. Yup this show scribbles that idea, while some say this is just like Sword Art Online, I disagree but it really isn’t. This series is set in the world of Orario, where adventurers band together and look for treasures in an underground labyrinth known as Dungeon. However, for Bell Cranel, fame and riches are secondary to what he wants to find the most.

Assassination Classroom

Assassination Classroom

Suppose an alien wants to destroy the entire planet but before doing so he wants to teach a bunch of students with a mediocre academic records. Sounds bullish right, well that’s before you watch this anime. No, don’t let the name fool you it isn’t as action packed as it seems but there sure is something that keeps you glued to this show. The alien, dubbed Koro-sensei (the indestructible teacher), is able to fly at speeds of up to Mach 20, which he demonstrates freely, leaving any attempt to subdue him in his extraterrestrial dust. Sure the Government is openly training these students to assassinate him but over the course of series these students learn that Koro-sensei is the best teacher they ever had.
