All-New Dragon Ball TV Anime Announced, First in 18 Years
Dragon Ball GT was the last anime series that aired from 1996 to 1997, yeah that’s 18 years back.
Surely we are still greeted with the movies the most recent to be released was Battle Of Gods in 2013 and even a new movie is coming out soon but this isn’t like that.
This series is also not like the currently ongoing Dragon Ball Kai, which is basically improved filler free version of the original anime series.
For starters it is called Dragon Ball Super and yes unlike GT Akira Toriyama will be the one behind the stories.
The series will take place after Goku defeats Majin Buu, and the world has become a peaceful place again.
Fuji TV producer Osamu Nozaki commented on the new series as well, saying, “As I read the plot [of the series] I’ve already received from Akira Toriyama, my dreams for this begin to expand. An enemy even stronger than Buu or Freeza may appear…”
Even now the Dragon Ball franchise is a hot property, still something similar to this happened with Sailor Moon but it was kind of a failed attempt, surely Dragon Ball Franchise has fans that are easily outnumbered by Sailor Moon fans so this situation is very unlikely.
Dragon Ball Super will begin airing sometime in July starting at 9pm JPT on Fuji TV.
