ABC and Lucasfilm Are in Talks For A Potential Star Wars TV Series

Lucasfilm’s plans to bring the galaxy far, far away to live action TV have been axed many times before in the past. The most prolific plans to get scraped was Star Wars Underworld. Still this time around there’s new hope.
While speaking at the ABC panel at the Television Critics Association press tour, ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey confirmed the network would “absolutely” love to air a Star Wars television show, and there are conversations going on to make it happen.

As a fan, I would absolutely love to say yes. We have had conversations, and we will continue to have conversations with Lucasfilm. It would be wonderful to extend the franchise.
With stand-alone films Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opening December 16 & Episode VIII coming in December 2017 in pipeline this could really treat fans. But again nothing is concrete, hopefully we might see the empire on the small screen.
