6 Reasons Why You Should Watch Game Of Thrones
I am active on social networks and there comes this time when everyone starts talking about something which you are at least curious to know. So was the situation with me and Game Of Thrones, which could arguably be HBO’s most popular TV series ever.
To be honest I am not much into this genre, which is fantasy but I must say Game Of Thrones is just beyond those tales of dragons & castles.
The show is named after the first book in the ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’ series by author George R.R. Martin which is appreciated by both fantasy geeks and mainstream readers alike.
I started watching this show just a few weeks ago and I already think it’s awesome. At start I thought it would be just like Lords Of the Rings but it was quite different and astonishing.
This is one of the very first thing that comes to my mind when I compare Game Of Thrones with other series in the same genre. We all know that the storyline is epic but what’s more epic is the budget of this show which makes it unlike no other. You can just feel like you are actually watching a movie but you might feel that eventually because each episode is like a hour long. You know if Doctor Who had that kind of budget it would been a completely amazing show. From VFX to costumes to props everything just fits in perfectly. With estimates at nearly $60 million for 10 episodes, expect big things on the small screen.
Obviously this is the reason why you should be watching the show and not for the sake of nudity (wink). First of let me tell you straight this show isn’t the ordinary all swords and glory kind of fantasy show but it does has some amazing fight scenes. The show is about Seven noble families fight for control of the mythical land of Westeros.
Season 1 ended with the show killing off its protagonist. I know thats a huge spoiler but that’s how the show is, anyone can die at any moment no matter what position that person holds in the show.
The Awesome Writing
Game Of Thrones is based upon in the medieval period and so are the dialogs of the show. In this show you’ll find some of the most finely crafted dialogue on television for sure. All credits goes to George R. R. Martin for putting something so complex that encompasses thousands of miles, dozens of characters and a history that spans thousands of years in a easy to read and follow format which is also compelling at the same time.
Everytime I watch the show I hope that he doesn’t die as he my favorite character from the show. Tyrion survives on cunning, wit and just a respectable amount of bravery. Tyrion prefers ‘the god of t**s and wine’ to any of the old gods and the new. He is accused of murder, his family is pathetic yet he manages to be one of the badasses of the show.
Magic & Nudity
This show feature these small and adorable dragons which later on become fierce and part of the force. Even beyond dragon Game Of Thrones features priestesses, giant wolves, zombies, and a sort of magical green fire.
Nudity, this might the reason many had started watching this show. Even before I started watching it my friend told me that you will find some sweet dessert in the show. The show is densely plotted and there are times when advancing the plot requires a few moments in which the characters simply stop and tell the audience who’s doing what to whom and why. Basically showcasing nudity before or after the sex or in some weird moments.
On A Final Thought
Game of Thrones has become the most popular show ever on US network HBO, averaging 18.4m viewers for each episode. The show has added an impressive four million viewers in its fourth season. This show is a phenomenon. It is seriously awesome and you should at least give it a shot!
